My Bubba was my best friend. My late grandmother got him for me as an early 17th birthday present. And at the store the second I held Bubba I knew he was what I needed. He was my whole world and I did everything I could with him. He was my baby and the cutest and most friendly bird you’d ever met! My sister who hates birds even liked Bubba! He was just so full of love and life and was just happy to be around and included.5 years will never be enough with him.

Smokey was so loved by his humans. He didn’t meet his human sister and brother until he was 5 but he instantly fell in love with them, and they with him. He was always a loyal companion. He was sweet and gentle. You couldn’t help but fall in love with him when you met him.

I am truly in shock over the loss of my lobo he was one of a kind he was truly a great dog he was funny kind he volunteered assisted living children's hospital for cancer everybody loved him I can't believe he's gone.

Tupac was a kind, gentle and loyal cat. He was truly a great companion for 10 Years! I joked he was a dog, he would answer to his name and “bury” food he didn’t eat. He never liked being messed with, stay away!! His younger brother X loved Tupac, he would follow him everywhere. They would have silent fights in their bathroom, Tupac would lay down and take all the kitten hits. Tupac will be missed Eternally. Love you Babyboy.

Tex, a prairie dog who died at age 11 on July 14, 2022, was an unconventional member of our household. He was a rescue from the exotic pet trade; his family no longer wanted him, after buying him as a baby from a pet store. In this photo he is 6 months old. Wanting to be part of a coterie (a family) that is every prairie dog's birthright, Tex was assured he would have brothers as well as sisters and we provided him with a family - his own species as well as our company too. He accepted everyone willingly, was playful, joyful and social. We know he was given final rest with Legacy in a respectful and caring manner and I am so grateful.

Ruby was such an amazing playful, cheery dog. She always had a smile on her face and she always knew how to make other people smile. Ruby was very laid-back and a beautiful tricolored hound mix. Ruby was there for me through my darkest times even in these short almost 5 years. I am forever grateful to have had the opportunity to adopt Ruby and give her an amazing loving home. No amount of words can express how much pain I have experienced the past couple days. My heart is hurting. I wish you would come back. My sweet sweet baby. Misha was a purebred, male Siberian cat who was first and foremost, a striking figure among felines. His beauty was arresting, and most people who were lucky enough to encounter him, couldn’t keep from commenting about his looks. But his visual appeal was only part of why Misha was so special. From his time as a kitten, Misha was a ball of bounce-off-the-wall whack-job energy that to the uninitiated, ran counter to his image of dignified grace, elegance, and regal pedigree…because he was intelligent, he bored easily and more often than not, was on the lookout for something interesting to do, and again, more often than not, it had to involve the people he was closest to – his human family. Like other Siberians, Misha was most comfortable around the people who made up his social world.

Our buddy o'pal Gillain, we greatly miss you and can't believe that it's already time to say goodbye. Time with you flew by in an instant. We brought you into our family back in 2011 from a friend of a relative. You always were quite the quirky friend, a bit antisocial and shy, but truly you had a kind heart. When your childhood friend Captain would visit, you would always bark at him when he misbehaves. You loved following us around when we did yard work and would sniff and rip the grass from the ground, we would joke that you're more like a cow than anything else. As you got older, you slept more and more and would have difficulty walking. You were a true fighter and gave it your all even towards the end. 5/29/2023 at 10:26 PM you passed peacefully in your sleep at 14.5 years old. We are deeply saddened by your departure from us and can't believe you are gone already. We love you Gillian, you'll be reunited with Captain up there in doggy heaven!

Amy initially came to us as a 2-week foster. She was transported north from North Carolina as an 11th-hour rescue through PAWS (Pioneers for Animal Welfare Society, Long Island) after she lost her home when her senior mom went into a nursing home. Sadly she was placed in a kill-shelter, and that was to be her fate were it not for PAWS rescue.

Bella was a rescue 11 years ago. She was 18 when she passed on 7-11-22. Can't even put into words how much she was loved and adored! Bella was a beloved member of our family and her sweet and loving disposition will be missed greatly. This difficult time was made easier by the kindness of our vet Dr. Lester and the staff at Legacy. It is our hope and desire that Bella rest in peace and live in our hearts forever!
